I was just about to buy Taupe Studio - and realized that if I buy it, I won't be able to install it on my computer.
To be honest - I'm shocked why my account was blocked.
I'm sure they will fix and solve this problem.

So.
These were INTERNET/connection problems and incomprehensible failures due to the Internet.
I decided to wait 24 hours and go to my page through Google Chrome (+ turned on VPN) - and I was able to successfully log into my account again (as I had all these years)
Then I turned on VPN on my computer and launched Aquarius (an application for installing their plugins) - and everything was restored and began to work as always.
For some reason, the AA website considered problems with our Internet as a "threat" - and for this reason my account was blocked lightning fast.
I was able to figure out this problem myself.

For a long time, I only used the ASH ULTRA Flat plugin.
But today I decided to install the first version of the plugin - which I bought when this plugin was first released by ASH.

The installation was successful and without problems as always.

Guys - just a question for those who are doing the same:
On my Mac Studio computer there is a folder "Acustica" in the following path:
Macintosh HD>User>Name>Acustica.

Next in the folder "Acustica" - I go to the folder - Aquarius>Stagearea>ACQUA> and there e
Folders with the names of those plugins that I install through the Aquarius application automatically appear.
A new folder "ASH" appeared there.
There are a lot of ZIP folders in this folder! (see screenshot)
The total weight of this folder is 3.14 GB!!!

I always completely DELETE these ZIP files from these folders with the names of the plugins.
And all my plugins work and run in Studio ONE without any problems. Everything works WITHOUT these ZIP files - which have an INCREDIBLE volume of GB for my ssd.

Tell me - does anyone else do this?

Do you also delete these unnecessary ZIP files after installing plugins from AA?

I thought Acustica have changed their license transfer policy after the massive backlash?
Because apparently they didn't. I just sold a license and wanted to transfer it to the other user, but I've run out of my five allowed transfers, so I'm gonna have to refund the money.
All this does is make me want to buy Acustica plugins even less tbh.

But apparently it's the same as always.

I'm not going to pay €25 plus the difference to the list price as a transfer fee. That literally makes all plugins worthless on the second hand market (after you ran out of free transfers).

So WHAT for do all these ZIP files appear/get loaded in a separate folder? After all, they do nothing when the plugins are running.
In the main vst3 folder - there I see a huge number of necessary files - and I understand that these are the files that are NEEDED for the plugin to work.
Then why are these ZIP files loaded (which are wasting the SSD and are not responsible for the plugins to work?

those are for if the user wants to install on another computer, they can copy them over, and aquarius will not need to re-download them. Or perhaps it makes updates easier as well?

Im not entirely sure honestly, but i vaguely remember something like that being the answer the last time a stage area question was brought up. Personally, i just delete them. I clear the stage are from within aquarius after every install.

OK - an interesting opinion.

But if you transfer these files to another computer - the plugin will still not be able to register without their Aquarius application (this is my assumption)
Without a new installation using Aquarius, the plugin/plugins will not work in daw.

In any case, since you are also deleting these files - which take up tens/hundreds of GB of SSD, then this is a normal generally accepted "practice" with plugins from AA.

Now I am definitely calm that I am deleting them - and this is Normal.

i excitedly bought Domino and Copper at 20 euros each but they don't authorize on my M1 Mac running Sequoia. even the trials don't work. submitted a support ticket. :(

This. It is really for saving (download) bandwidth. If you also ever need to reinstall you won’t need to redownload the files. Also correct that you can move these staging files from one computer to another and install there… but you Do need Aquarius + an internet connection in order to properly install and authorize.

In most cases it is appropriate to delete them, and it can be suggested to back them up (edit: on an external hard drive), but that can end up being a considerable amount of space if you have a lot of plugins.

Having the staging files also helps in situations where you find yourself downgrading or trying different versions of a plugin for troubleshooting. That fits into the category of reinstallation pretty much.

Is there an update for Silver coming soon? It’s an amazing reverb, maybe the best or at least the most realistically pleasing one. It should be Acustica’s flagship in my opinion. But I think it’s due for some CPU optimizing and new GUI.

Im interested in buying most of the nebula add-ons that are on the current sale, but am hesitant with no knowledge of planned future of nebula. I know a few months ago it was thrown around that there was an update sometime in the not so distant future. Is there any movement on that? Something still planned? Will it be "safe" to buy these libraries, or is there a chance they will become obsolete in two years?

Unfortunately, I don't know the answer, but the products you mention that work today will continue to work on your current system.
Regarding compatibility with future configurations, some require more time than others, and in general (with a few exceptions), they were updated within a reasonable time.

update: supported confirmed that they are not compatible with M1 macs, which have now been on the market for 4.5 years, and that they do not know when they will be updated. the fact that they are still selling them in their shop and managing them in Aquarius in spite of this is absurd.

they offered a refund, but I don't want a refund. they have never been on sale this cheap and I'll wait until they are updated, but if it's already been this long, who knows if that will ever happen.
