In the main vst3 folder - there I see a huge number of necessary files - and I understand that these are the files that are NEEDED for the plugin to work.

those are for if the user wants to install on another computer, they can copy them over, and aquarius will not need to re-download them. Or perhaps it makes updates easier as well?
Im not entirely sure honestly, but i vaguely remember something like that being the answer the last time a stage area question was brought up. Personally, i just delete them. I clear the stage are from within aquarius after every install.
