Looks like poor UX design, optimized for iOS (which is great, but not for the pc). Almost bought it until I read reviews. Lots of cpu and lots of clicking around to change tabs back and forth between osc and envelope tabs.
I like the pages better than trying to cram everything all on one page. Also, if your computer keyboard is at hand, you can just hit numbers 1 thru 5 to switch thru the osc/control/output pages. The other numbers do stuff too, but I don't have them memorized yet.
I just loaded it up in Cubase and checked cpu useage thru task manager. The 1st instance uses about 30% and each additional instance uses about another 10% with all playing simultaneously.
I don't know if I have optimal settings for it, I probably would never use it that way, and that's on the 6 year old laptop with a 1.99GHz base speed.
I'm not too up on computer stuff, so take that with a grain of salt.
Edit: OK - yes, Mariana is quite the cpu hog. I just tried doing the same thing with 4 instances of GForce SEM, and then 4 instances of Pigments (which people said was a cpu hog).
Both were using less than half of what Mariana did, and adding extra instances didn't seem to up the usage too much. Not like Mariana did anyways.
Not sure how accurate those readings are but it's an indication of their relative cpu use.
If I were to use it along with other stuff on this computer, I'd probably have to work my way around it.
There's no doubt that it's an absolutely hefty sound though.
