Moog have never suggested nor inferred this was an attempt at emulating Moog hardware, past or present. It's its own thing.
It definitely has a character. If you like it, buy it, if you don't, move on.
I personally think it sounds awesome. Super hifi. The two independent layers aspect adds a lot of richness.
