Facebook Account Deactivation/Nightmare
Wasn't sure if this was the right place to post this, but I thought I would make a little thread on the nightmare I just went through trying to deactivate my Facebook account.
This started about two months ago. I was resolved to remove my Facebook account. I first started searching on Google how to deactivate my account. I found some instructions on the Facebook page and followed them to a tee. Nothing. No matter how hard I tried I could not locate the area that was supposed to be there. I struggled for about a week. A month and a half went by and I basically tried to forget about it, but it was eating at me that I was unable to locate how to do this. Over the last week I've been attempting it again to no avail. But today....for some reason....I found a reference to it somewhere on the internet about the Accounts Centre. I went in and removed my accounts. Then through some magical mystery (after sending many angry help comments to Facebook over the last two days) I was able to locate an area in the settings, that do not reflect the area on the actual Facebook help page, where I went in and was finally able to deactivate my account. Thank God.
Just the other day I saw some nasty pornography on Facebook. Facebook is a place of abuse and hackers...nasty ad's, etc. I sent Mark Zuckerberg my thoughts and reflections on what his platform has become. To me, Facebook is purposely making it extremely difficult for people to deactivate their accounts. Their very help page on how to achieve it did not at all reflect my actual experience...and it was only after many angry help comments that I sent to them that I was suddenly able to deactivate the account.
Facebook is not a friendly platform and it is full of maliciousness. I'd advise anyone using Facebook, to be very cautious of using it. There are many bad people taking advantage with it.
