Akai Professional MPC Live II

I thought I was buying some sort of powerhouse bit of kit to replace my ancient Akai samplers, and it's so nearly is exactly what I needed for the dawless part of my set up but before you buy any MPC make sure you fully understand the ramifications of what's called the 'note off bug', It makes the unit virtually useless when triggered externally. Also, it will not record audio in midi clock slave mode, maybe this has been fixed in the new OS. The final nail in the coffin for me was also the other crazy bug introduced by the the new OS update that means it will not load old Akai .akp files, which is exactly what I bought it for. The note off bug has been there for years and so I have no expectation that Akai will fix this new bug any time soon. Akai used be great but now inMusic have bought them, they have really gone downhill. For me this MPC is now more of a novelty beat box, dusting off the Z4 and the Z8 shortly...
