Any news on the price point for this?
Also, could someone share their take on whether these TRS connections might not work optimally with a Rupert Neve Designs headphone amp?
I'm using Focal Utopia headphones, and when used with the RND amp with an XLR source it's the best quality listening experience I've ever had, high end monitors and high end audiophile speakers included.
Just wondering whether this new Radial Nuance with its TRS connections would be on a level that would not at all degrade that listening chain (chain being: XLR out of Lynx Hilo, into monitor controller, feeding RND headphone amps into Utopia as A, and into PSI A17M as B. (I also have Genelec 8351s on AES but that's an entirely separate flow obviously).
It seems so far from using the RND that I get a lot more detail and transient energy out of it when I use the XLR inputs on it, and when I feed it a signal coming from XLR outputs on Hilo or mixer. Might be that XLR outputs on my other gear (mixer etc) are just higher quality or louder (both my Hilo and my PD 1.4 mixer has a master XLR out and a booth TRS out, and the master XLR sounds better on both.
Might be that the master outs on both units are better than the booth outs, or it might be that the XLR-all-the-way signal flow as such actually makes an audible difference on high end headphones like the Utopias.
