Wowza - lets gets some hardware/plugin comparisons going, wanted the hardware for ever, is this really too good to be true? Waiting to hit the download button.

If the sound of this is truly breaking new ground in the plug-in realm of things, it will be a must have.

Not sure about all that jazz in regards to each license having a different sound though.

For instance, if you choose to demo it before buying, will your license sound identical to that demo?

I tested it briefly and it gets close, but there is a little clarity to the hardware that is missing a bit in the plugin, so I won't be selling my box anytime soon. Great to have the plugin for more extreme mangling and buss duties, of course. And away from the studio in the box duties. But on the analog master buss, I would not replace the real thing.

i've been wondering for years if/when some manufacturers would come up with something like this.
now that it's finally happening i'm not sure if it's really a good thing or not
what tolerances / differences between two licenses are we talking about here? 2% ?, 5% ?

Thanks - it will never be 1 to 1, hardware nearly always has more mojo, how close in your opinion is 90%?

It is very hard to put a number on it. I did not try any extreme settings, just the light master buss "preset" that I always use. It got close. No doubt. By the usual hardware to plugin margin. 90 percent there is not a bad way to put it. :D

It says you can enter a string of numbers to change the variations. It must just be a seed value for random number generation. You're not locked in to your serial number. To be honest it just sounds like TMT with an extra layer of gimmick.

hmm a gimmick on top of a gimmick so you can spend all that extra time looking for the best sounding serial number? Doesn't have to become any more crazy than that, I'm definetely not liking this.

I don't see why you would ever have to worry about it.

If you were buying the hardware, would you ask your retailer to send you a hundred units so you could pick the best sounding one?

I'm expecting that in the digital format, the makers choose what sounds the best for this emulation, not leave the random differences up to you. That's the benefit of software, that the creators can pick out the best parts and have them always sound like you want them to sound - every time.

Now, I can imagine me wondering (even if the settings sound great already), hmm maybe a different serial number will sound even better, so I will need to try different codes just to find out which is the better one. That's a bit too ridiculous for me, but hey if it suits you, no problem at all just a simple opinion.

I see no positives for me. Only makes it harder to share presets and to compare settings etc.

I was waiting for this. The real hardware is something I really wanted to buy (I even put the oder when it first came out, but had to give up for financial reasons). I have mixed feeling though. The original is made precisely to "spice up" things - not only, but especially - for people like me who work almost 100% ITB, so having it in a plugin format kinda defies its purpose?
Anyway I know I'll buy it. Latest "mojo box" or saturation plugins from PA are incredibly good (especially The Oven which I can't live without) and I'm sure this will be amazing.

Yeah, that seems likely to be the case, if it allows you to change the string of numbers for each instance of the plug-in that you want to have feeling "unique" from one another.

Trying the demo on a finished mix just to see what’s going on .
First impressions were ok it’s pretty good not sure if it’s 240$ good yet , but it’s early. I then for some reason put Acoustica’s Mystic in front of the Silver Bullet and the Heavens opened up !
Wow !!
Now this is just one mix and maybe I just got lucky , off to try another mix . We’ll see

Have been waiting for this! My plan was that this will be my last PA purchase... let's see, because PA Forever is such a good deal... probably I have to continue... Will insta-buy when the Forever voucher arrives!

I've had the same thought from time to time, but it's much easier to keep the plan as it's not being offered anymore so when it's gone it's gone. I do sell the vouchers when I'm not inspired to use it and it's always a very quick sell...trust me on that one!

Just picked this one up. I like it. It's different.

Going through it to see how I could use it and the best ways to use it.

It's heavy on the CPU. So, you can't just use a bunch of them if you are thinking it's something like that or you are looking for something like that.

The Mojo C Hitmaker 4000 is the only one I feel you could use on the mix bus. The others are effects to me.

Tip: Double-click on the spaceman on the front plate. I like that better.

You all piss on this TMT as if it is imposed and someone forces you to use it! They don't. You can either use it or you can turn it off and leave this feature to someone who might find it useful. In case you missed it - you can choose not to use TMT. It is explained in their manuals.

How does the plugin sound? Any comparison? For years I have heard anecdotal stories about this hardware. I will be demoing this when I grab some time but I am interested in hardware owners opinions.

There is a huge fade in when i start the playhead in Reaper (vst3).
Also there is a huge fade-in when you render the audio.

You can cure this by turning off "Hard reset on playback start" in the plugin's [+] menu.
