I have a good number of synths both monophonic and polyphonic, but I've only achieved this delayed vibrato behavior on two of them: the Behringer Deepmind 12 and the ASM Hydrasynth Explorer. (I can get a close approximation on the MicroMonsta2 by squaring the envelope used for the delay, so the initial vibrato level is small enough to be imperceptible.)

I am tempted by the Multi/Poly's complexity and quad-timbrality, but I don't want to spend this much unless it has pretty much every feature that I normally use.

Not having a MINI MOOG I can guess that the release stage starts the instant

So, maybe my question should be "Can I achieve the sound I desire?" rather than assume there is only one way to achieve the sound I desire.

Here's a quick and dirty experiment using Moog LP filter emulation. Input level 75, output level 100, drive level 45.
VCA type MINI. ENV=MINI. Compressor=default

3 VA sawtooths.
osc1 and 2 are the same footage with one panned left and the other right, both use the delay (1/2 second) a LFO Fade of 1/2 second. Both are detuned -0.02/+.02 with .32 semitones of equal but opposite LFO to pitch 1 and 2.

Osc3 is one octave down with its own delayed and fade Vibrato set to 1 second delay and 1 second fade, panned centre.

For ease of design I use the AMP Envelope for both AMP and filter cutoff. However, I set both Decay and Release to 1 second and use a MOD KNOB to adjust them in tandem.

Slight LP portamenta, legato mode is off, mono

cheats: i have this set to high note priority for three reasons
a) I can
b) I have and learnt my style on an MS-20Kit, not a Moog.
c) This would get some Moog purists up in an uproar

There is some crunch as I run the oscillators at 100
and this is not done in polite society!



Filter is MINI LP with only about 15/100 of resonance as I can't believe how much bass these lose.

Backed up by a poly Waldorf Blofeld.

Board effects Strymon El Cap and Deco (100% of all my outboard effects gear)

BTW, I designed and built my first mono synth with high note priority because it felt more akin to hammer ons/ pull offs played on guitar; a single stretched string is always high-note priority.

Yes, you can do this with the LFO; just set Legato to Off, and set the LFO's Sync Notes and Free Run to Off.

The multi/poly envelopes always retain state, and don't return to zero.

There's also a more complicated way to do it, which works regardless of the Legato setting: set the LFO to Free Run, and then trigger it from Note On.

This all started as a question by a participant on Gearspace.com
asking about delayed vibrato and envelopes that do not reset on a mono patch.

I created this mono patch using the Moog LP filter and the Moog VCA model on the Korg Multipoly.

This has delayed vibrato to pitch but I also added delayed PWM on the Saw waveforms.

Osc1 is panned left with a custom Wave Generator 1.51 wavetable for Saw PWM, Osc 2 is the same but panned right. Osc3 is one octave lower than Osc1 and Osc2 and panned center. Osc3 has built-in VA Saw

I also added Mod Knob control for Attack (Mod Knob 1) and Decay/Release (Mod Knob 2)

My playing is kinda sloppy, but this was an experiment
