The fans (and I'm convinced there are more than one) change in volume here and there, but geez, my wife even asked when she walked into my otherwise silent & sound-treated studio. "what's that noise?"
Just going through presets now and playing around... more later.
But damn, *fans*!! Hmmmm, that may be a deal breaker for me.
Yeah, it has 5 fans. Which is more than the human fans this synth will have this time next year once they've all been passed around (multiple times) on ebay in a vain attempt to claw back some of that astronomical Moog markup cost, and battered to phuq with squeaky bearings, and tatty control panel (already showing dirt/wear on demo models).
The upside is the squeaky bearings will
finally make the tone of the Moog One more bearable.
Oh come on guys, this thread was just crying out for a bit of me...
And am very relieved to see I'm not in the twilight zone where high expectations for HIGH prices is actually shared by many and not just glossed over by the few.
The
first mistake was thinking you were buying 8 grand's worth of analog synth, your
second mistake was tolerating that you're paying most of it for basically a synth shaped computer with a rudimentary/workman like tone and a ton of software tricks to shape it (FX and modulation).
