...all, so if my old version stops working altogether that is no big deal. I’d miss the D50, drum machines, the JV-1080 and the SRX expansions, though, I rely heavily on those. I don’t use the RC Jupiter 8 cuz the TAL and Arturia versions sound better. The RC Juno 60 does sound good and my version works. This is what bugs...
Bring back 19” rack gear.! But a jv1080 in boutique form would be good. With all expansions.
In general, no, there are no modern alternatives in hardware or plugin world that sound like the original 90s hardware, which has that warm, heavily colored, mid-range heavy sound. With the effects disabled, the Roland Cloud 1080 and 5080 sound very, very close to the hardware XV-5080 and the Integra's PCM synth engine, but...
