It’s extremely, extremely musical…surprisingly so actually. Great for balancing a sound without getting in the way. The air is quite unique sounding to me. Not a Maag, Blyss, Soma, HG-Q or NSEQ2 all of which do air nicely, For free!?!
I’m personally wouldn’t mind if anything changed but as others have stated an output gain would be helpful.
Hey Bleu Fontaine,
The plugin development process actually started about a year ago — I began working on three products simultaneously. The next stop is a Mastering Compressor. My goal is to design a suite that conveys an “analog” feel throughout.
Thank you so much for the kind words. While the High band gets attention, I can say the Low band knob really does its job well. It adds a sense of depth and weight. I designed it with inspiration from some of my favorite EQs, but as you mentioned, it doesn’t truly resemble any of them. The points and curve shapes were all carefully chosen and crafted.
And yes — it’s FREE! It will always be that way. If there had been a price tag, and if I hadn't been handling the UI alone since day one, I might be competing in a marketplace right now. But I stand confidently behind my plugins. I highly recommend trying XMLimiter. The final update — V3 — is on its way, and honestly, even V2 might surprise you.
Absolutely! A dedicated output knob is now sitting at the top of my notes list!
Here’s a link to the XMLimiter thread — I’d love for you to check it out, try it, and share your thoughts:
