I’ve often wondered why the Wurlitzer/Hohner EP is so hard to emulate. Nothing really comes close, although LL5 gets somewhat closer for sure. I feel like part of the difficulty is this (unless this is emulated and I just don’t know about it): “Wurlitzer Reeds: The Wurlitzer utilizes metal reeds of various pitches to generate sound when struck by hammers. When a reed vibrates, it can cause other reeds to vibrate sympathetically, particularly if they are harmonically related.” I think this is definitely a big part of that distinctive Wurly sound.
