I'm sure someone could solve it from the PCB/layout POV -- I think the real challenge would be making it usable and user-friendly on the UI side, something that isn't just a slog of options plastered on a front panel.
I agree that the market is saturated with devices that do more or less one thing, but I also think that true "do everything" devices are hard to get right. IMO something like the Tweakers do a good job of being sonically flexible while still maintaining a wide range of options. I'd personally rather pair them with something like the ngTubeComp to get the vari-mu bases covered rather than trying to mash up the Tweaker and a vari-mu into a single unit, but YMMV of course.
