what i like about the simplicity of sequencing in the S2400 is that i record a take and dont really spend too much time tinkering with the midi sequence and move on to the next.
s2400 syncs gear perfectly and has quite a few connectivity options - i.e. 3 ins if you count the 2 usbs, various midi outs.
its a great workstation - if you focus is sampling and basic sequencing / arranging of hardware. the fact it prob wont get too many more features is perfect in my mind - ppl expect too much these days.
i actually use it as a slave to my DN2 atm but occassionally use the sequencer on both. fact it has 8 looper voices as well is amazing. keep toying with idea of switching it to a DT2 but really S2400 is just a beautiful unique piece of gear. think id majorly regret selling it.
Word, I feel you. That 12-bit got that knock I’m after—perfect to sit next to the MPC One+. I ain't sequence with it.
Gotta match phase on the kick though, 'cause I push the low-end tryna get it knockin’ like it's straight out the BX basement.
S2400 would hit way harder on the market if it could read a .mid file, or just let me drag in a MIDI-1 and break out Channel 10 into patterns or a song mode.
Right now it’s fire, but with that? It’d be elite.
