I got to download the pro tools session from dropbox and it opens just as I intended- showing only the edited and consolidated tracks. However, the consolidated FILES weren't in the dropbox folder. my mistake- i never tried to dropbox a session like this before. I certainly didn't intend for people to replete my edits.
As for the innuendos that I am doing this as part of some kind of scam- give me a ****ing break. I've been doing this far too long for childish stuff like that. (I do note that I wrote that I did not intend to use the submitted mixes in any way.)
Which begs the question- why did I decide to do this? Well, in the back of my mind when I started to think about this was that lately I've had a lot of free time on my hands (because of the pandemic- or at least that is what I've been telling myself). So, I've been listening to stuff that I did a long time ago (I've been doing this for about 35 years). And I found myself saying "wow, that's was really good. How come my current mixes don't sound as good?"
Which in turn made me think maybe, at 75, its time to hang it up. Which led to -What would other people do if handed the type of stuff I am now doing? (While I have worked with true pros in the past, nowadays its most amateurs (vanity projects, some call them) or, at best semi-pro.)
The $200 was my way of saying "thanks"- I never expected to hear from more than 3 or 4 people. Here's what I've decided to do: Once some mixes have been posted (say a week or so), I am going to call for a vote; anyone who posted a comment on this thread can vote for one, only, of the mixes posted. The one with the most votes gets the two benjamins.
As for you non pro tools users, please give me a day or two to figure out how to upload to dropbox the consolidated, edited tracks. I will post here when I have done that. And please accept my apologies for wasting your time.
