I’m clearly talking in depth about guitar on a guitar forum guilty as charged!
But, where I think we agree is that it’s a waste of time trying to *replicate* analog with digital. I aim for good - great even - but not identical.
And maybe Fractal have better presets. I’ve already covered the hard yards with HX. I know what I like and how to get it. I spend less time tweaking nowadays than I would spend trying out amp settings and mic positions on physical amps. But my whole point really is that I needed to go digital for the way I want to work. It’s not for everyone, and I also think we agree that trying to prove that it is right for everyone is a fools errand, but so is trying to prove that digital can’t be as good as analog.
