Usually the Brauner tubes are soldered in for fail-proof electronic connection. It would be best anyway to have it replaced by Brauner so the original sound can be warranted. Having a look by yourself couldn't be simpler than with a Brauner mic though: just remove the screws near the bottom and slide off the jacket to expose the entire innards of the mic. Great construction.
I agree they provide good support, but I'm naturally a bit weary shipping something so expensive internationally. Also, I read somewhere that tubes that are soldered in typically tend to last longer than tubes that are just plugged in - do you know if this seems to hold true with Brauner tubes, at least with respect to their lifespan?
