Help routing outboard gear

Hello , i need some help with routing my outboard gear correctly. I'm trying to connect my neve 1073 spx to my apollo 8 bypass the apollo preamp and connect my Avalon 737 as an insert. Also which gear would need the phantom power on? Any help is appreciated

Think you would be better asking in almost any other section of the forum except songwriting/Lyricists corner but let's give it a go.

As an insert to what?
Sending and returning from the DAW or inserting to the 1073 so the mic is going through both before hitting the DAW?

Phantom powers the mic so whatever is acting as you mic pre needs phantom on.

As an insert to what?
Sending and returning from the DAW or inserting to the 1073 so the mic is going through both before hitting the DAW?

Thanks for the reply I want to connect the avalon as sending and returning from the daw for mixing how do I rout for that?

You can connect to any spare line ins/outs on the Apollo to the 737 (line out to line in and vice versa) Then it depends on your DAW how you set that up.... Most have some kind of external effect plugin that can save the routing and ping the connection to compensate the latency
